What is Atazor?

Atazor Capsule is used for Hiv infections, Human immunodeficiency virus infections and other conditions. Atazor Capsule may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Atazor Capsule contains Atazanavir as an active ingredient.

Atazor Capsule works by inhibiting maturation of virus in the cells.

Atazor Capsule is used for the treatment, control, prevention, & improvement of the following diseases, conditions and symptoms:

  • Hiv infections
  • Human immunodeficiency virus infections
  • Atazor Capsule may also be used for purposes not listed here.


Atazor Capsule Working, Mechanism of Action and Pharmacology

Atazor Capsule improves the patient’s condition by performing the following functions:

  • Inhibiting maturation of virus in the cells.


Atazor Capsule – Composition and Active Ingredients

Atazor Capsule is composed of the following active ingredients (salts)

Atazanavir – 100 MG


Atazor Capsule – Side-effects

The following is a list of possible side-effects that may occur from all constituting ingredients of Atazor Capsule. This is not a comprehensive list. These side-effects are possible, but do not always occur. Some of the side-effects may be rare but serious. Consult your doctor if you observe any of the following side-effects, especially if they do not go away.

  • Abnormal heart rhythm
  • Nausea
  • Jaundice
  • Rash
  • Headache
  • Abdominal pain
  • Atazor Capsule may also cause side-effects not listed here.

Atazor Capsule – Precautions & How to Use

Before using Atazor Capsule, inform your doctor about your current list of medications, over the counter products (e.g. vitamins, herbal supplements, etc.), allergies, pre-existing diseases, and current health conditions (e.g. pregnancy, upcoming surgery, etc.). Some health conditions may make you more susceptible to the side-effects of the drug.

Take as directed by your doctor or follow the direction printed on the product insert. Dosage is based on your condition. Tell your doctor if your condition persists or worsens. Important counseling points are listed below.

  • Avoid spreading of HIV virus to others
  • Avoid transmission of HIV: do not share needles or personal care items
  • Consult your doctor or pharmacist whenever your medication regimen changes
  • It is important to continue taking this medication even if you feel well
  • Kidney problems
  • Liver problems or liver disease including hepatitis B or C


Atazor Capsule – Drug Interactions

If you use other drugs or over the counter products at the same time, the effects of Atazor Capsule may change. This may increase your risk for side-effects or cause your drug not to work properly. Tell your doctor about all the drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are using, so that you doctor can help you prevent or manage drug interactions. Atazor Capsule may interact with the following drugs and products:

  • Amiodarone
  • Antacids
  • Atorvastatin
  • Bepridil
  • Boceprevir
  • Bosentan


Atazor Capsule – Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to Atazor Capsule is a contraindication. In addition, Atazor Capsule should not be used if you have the following conditions:

  • Children under the age of 3 months
  • Hypersensitivity
  • Proton-pump inhibitors
